Topic: Strengthening Critical Civil Infrastructure: Advancing Resilience in the Face of Climate Change, Urbanization, and Natural Hazards. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Innovative design and construction methods for infrastructure resilience
- Smart technologies in urban infrastructure monitoring and maintenance
- Assessment techniques and rehabilitation strategies for aging infrastructure
- Self-healing materials and their applications in urban infrastructure

3. Special issue in Journal of Intelligent Construction
Topic: Advancements in Structural Health Monitoring and Condition Assessment for Intelligent Urban Lifelines. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Condition assessment and real-time monitoring for pipelines, sewer lines, and urban underground pipe gallery
- Structural health monitoring and condition assessment of road, railway, bridge, tunnel, and subway networks
- Distributed fiber optic sensors, non-destructive techniques, MEMS, drones, and robots for infrastructure evaluation
- Machine learning-based multi-sensor data fusion in urban lifeline monitoring and risk management
- Detection, evaluation, and differentiation of urban lifeline interactive anomalies
